Hey there, pleasure ambassadors! I know you’re ready to jet-set around the world with your beautiful self, and you are psyched about taking your newly liberated yoni with you. Oh the adventures you two are going to have as we move into the hot and steamy months of the summer season… Whether you’re off to explore bustling cities of Europe, lounging on exotic beaches, or hiking the moist jungles of western India, traveling 🥀with a vagina brings its own set of challenges. But fear not, ladies and female bodied-hotties, I’ve got you covered with some real talk and helpful tips to keep you feeling your best while adventuring.

The More You Know: UTIs and Traveling

Let’s dive right in—we all know that the more sex you have (especially when it’s been a while—no shame!), the more likely you are to get a UTI and/or yeast infection. Nothing kills the vibe faster than that burning sensation when you pee, or incessant itching down there. It’ll zap your sex energy AND your adventure energy. What’s a girl to do?

Tip: Stay hydrated like it’s your job. Drink plenty of water, and keep cranberry supplements in your travel kit. Also, make sure to pee after sex. It might not sound glamorous, but it’s essential for flushing out any bacteria. Keep in mind that antibiotics (even if you are taking them for a UTI) have a tendency to cause yeast infections because they throw off the healthy bacteria in your digestive tract and your yoni. Whenever you take an antibiotic while traveling (and forevermore), make sure you are also taking a probiotic with it (antibiotic first, probiotic a few hours later).

Period Problems on the Go

Managing your bleed while on the move can be a real challenge, especially for those female bodied people out there that typically do a pretty good job moving with the flow of their cycle. Sometimes you can’t plan your trip around your period, and you find yourself dragging your suitcase on day one of your bleed. Ugh!

Tip: Pack a variety of menstrual products—period panties, tampons, pads, menstrual cups, whatever makes you comfortable. Remember that things that are reusable are going to be a challenge if you are doing all of your laundry at a laundromat. It’s OK to use the disposable stuff while you’re on the go. Don’t forget your herbal pain relievers and a disposable heating pads. I really love a bit of clary sage oil on my womb when I’m bleeding. And pro tip: dark-colored clothing can be a lifesaver for those days that you’re bleeding but not REEAALLY bleeding. You might want to explore free-bleeding a little while you’re on vacation. Intentionally pack some black leggings you are good to throw away after your adventures.

Navigating One-Night Stands Abroad

If you’re hooking up with a local hottie, there’s always that underlying fear, and it’s especially hard to have the safer sex talk.

Tip: Whenever possible, bring them back to your place. Set up a pleasure-positive environment beforehand with your friends so you can relax and enjoy yourself without the awkward morning-after shame stares from your roomies. Think mood lighting, your favorite lube, a comfy space, and super honest convos with your friends about boundaries, expectations, and support.

Hygiene Hacks for the Adventurous Soul

Whether you’re in a committed relationship or enjoying spontaneous encounters, cleanliness is key. Tempted to get handsy in the heat of the moment on the medieval castle on the hill? DO IT! but first…

Tip: Wash your hands before getting intimate, or at least use hand sanitizer if soap and water aren’t available. Your delicate lady parts will thank you for not exposing them to the grime of the city streets or the moist rainforest trails. Remember the UTIs we talked about earlier??
