Summer sensuality: embracing the erotic mother & fertility of the season

As we step into the warmth and vibrancy of summer, it's an ideal time to explore the concept of summer sensuality. Summer is a season where nature is at its peak, life slows down, and the days are long and languid. This season, heavy with the promise of new beginnings and growth, mirrors the nurturing energy of the Mother archetype.

The Mother embodies the essence of summer – she is the caregiver, the nurturer, and the source of life. Just as the earth is pregnant with the bounty of the coming harvest and the cattle in the fields await calving, midsummer focuses on nurturing new life both in the ground and in human and animal wombs. The Mother archetype resonates with the slow, deliberate pace of summer, where every moment is savored, and the nurturing of new life is at the forefront.

In our story, we see the Mother surrounded by the Virgin, the Maiden, and the Crone, each offering their unique support and love. This tapestry of care and connection mirrors the summer's nurturing energy, where the sun's warmth and the earth's fertility create a haven for growth and intimacy.

The mother story

The Virgin and the Maiden made their way up to the Mother's womb sanctuary, weaving a tapestry with threads of care and connection. The Virgin, with a pot of warm oatmeal in hand, ascended the stairs, the comforting aroma of fennel and rosemary trailing behind her. She entered the room quietly, her eyes filled with the silent strength that characterized her self-sufficiency. The Maiden, adorned with bright, wine-colored pendants, followed closely, carrying a bottle of body oil infused with the essence of nourishing herbs. Her intention was clear – to offer the Mother a daily womb massage, a ritual of self-love and care.

As they entered, the room bathed in the soft glow of sunlight, they found the Mother cradling her newborn, an image of serene beauty. Meanwhile, the Crone, wise and weathered, chose to remain outside in the warmth of the sun, her presence a silent acknowledgment of the cyclical nature of life. The Mother, though physically within the confines of her room, felt the supportive threads extending beyond, knowing that the Crone's wisdom lingered just beyond the threshold, a source of strength in the natural embrace of the outdoors.

In the quiet sanctuary of her bedroom, the Mother reclined, cradling her newborn against her chest. The air was filled with a sense of tranquility as the other three women, the Virgin, the Maiden, and the Crone, gathered around her, offering support and love.

She had never spread her net so widely before, fanning her roots to gather an abundance of minerals and nutrients from the ground, her lover, her sisters, and the land. The energy, calories, breath, and nourishing flowing in and out of her were at a higher volume than ever before. Yet, she knew that all of life's experiences, the words from her mothers, and the affection from her loved ones had more than adequately prepared her for this moment.

As she lay there, she tested her head, allowing her mother's milk to flow from her nipples and into her skin. She felt the warmth of the sun on her eyelids, a gentle caress that mirrored the love surrounding her. The room was filled with a harmonious symphony of quiet murmurs, soothing lullabies, and the occasional laughter shared among the women.

She reflected on how her life had slowed leading up to her birth. The movement in her womb, breasts, ligaments, and connective tissue quickened, and the community members picked up tasks as her efforts became focused on creating life. The other women, men, and community members were like a supportive tapestry, weaving threads of care around her.

The Virgin, with her self-sufficiency and completeness, prepared nutrient-rich meals that nurtured the Mother's recovery. The Maiden, in her radiant embodiment of self-love and awareness, offered a comforting touch and nourishing food. The Crone, with her accumulated wisdom, provided guidance and reassurance as the Mother navigated the challenges of early motherhood.

In this sacred space, the Mother found solace and strength. The room, filled with the essence of life and love, became a cocoon of support where she could heal and bond with her newborn. As the women surrounded her, each embodying a different aspect of womanhood, the Mother felt the interconnectedness of their experiences and the beauty of a community united in the celebration of life.

In the warmth of summer, we embrace the erotic energy of the Mother, celebrating the fertility of the season and the sensual connection to our natural selves.
