Ritual for Clearing Collective Sexual trauma

Ritual for Releasing the Baggage of Collective Sexual Trauma

This ritual is designed to help you consciously release the weight of collective sexual trauma that you may be carrying. It’s a practice of acknowledging the past, honoring your feelings, and letting go of what no longer serves you. Set aside a quiet space where you won’t be disturbed, and allow yourself the time and space to fully engage in this process.

What You'll Need:

  • A quiet, safe space where you feel comfortable

  • A candle (preferably white or black)

  • A small bowl of water

  • A few stones or crystals (choose ones that feel grounding to you, such as black tourmaline, obsidian, or hematite)

  • Pen and paper

  • A small bowl of salt

  • A comfortable seat or mat to sit on

Step 1: Set Your Space

Find a comfortable place to sit, either on the floor or in a chair. Arrange the stones or crystals around you in a circle. Place the candle in front of you, the bowl of water on your left, and the bowl of salt on your right. Light the candle, and take a few deep breaths to center yourself.

Step 2: Grounding Meditation

Close your eyes and take a deep breath in, then slowly exhale. Visualize roots growing from the base of your spine, reaching deep into the earth. Imagine these roots connecting you to the strength and stability of the ground below. Feel the energy of the earth rising up through these roots, grounding and supporting you.

Step 3: Acknowledgment of Collective Trauma

Hold the stones or crystals in your hands and take a moment to acknowledge the collective sexual trauma that you’ve absorbed from society, culture, and history. You might say aloud or think to yourself:

"I acknowledge the weight of collective sexual trauma that I carry. I recognize the pain, shame, and fear that have been passed down through generations. I honor the experiences of those who came before me, and I choose to release what is no longer mine to hold."

Step 4: Write and Release

Take the pen and paper, and begin to write down any thoughts, feelings, or memories that come up related to this collective trauma. Don’t censor yourself—let whatever needs to come out flow onto the paper. When you feel you’ve written everything down, hold the paper and say:

"I release these burdens. I release the collective pain, shame, and fear. I choose to free myself from the weight of what no longer serves me."

Gently tear up the paper into small pieces and place them in the bowl of water. As the paper dissolves, imagine the trauma dissolving from your body and spirit.

Step 5: Salt Cleansing

Take a pinch of salt and sprinkle it over the water. As you do, visualize the salt purifying the water and cleansing the energy in your space. Say:

"With this salt, I cleanse and purify. I wash away the residue of collective trauma and welcome healing into my being."

Step 6: Final Release

Blow out the candle, signaling the end of the ritual. As the smoke rises, imagine any remaining fragments of collective trauma being carried away, leaving you lighter and more at peace. Sit for a few moments in silence, feeling the difference in your body and energy.

Step 7: Ground and Close

Take another deep breath, feeling the connection to the earth beneath you. When you’re ready, gently shake out your hands and feet, symbolizing the release of any lingering tension or energy.

Thank yourself for taking this time for your healing, and know that you can return to this ritual whenever you need to let go of the past and reclaim your power.
